New Lawn Installs

Posted on April 28, 2019

Spring and summer are quickly approaching, and one of the top things on the list of new homeowners is installing a new lawn. Whether you’re starting over completely fresh, or getting an updated look, installing a new lawn can be tricky in the Indiana clay. However, if you do it right, you can get that new installation looking great in no time!\n\nOne of the best things you can do to successfully install that new lawn is to top dress your existing soil with top soil. The topsoil is where organic matter decays, and it’s also where the beneficial microbes reside as well. In the Indiana clay soil we have, it’s vital to add topsoil in order to give your lawn the best chance to grow and thrive. \n\nAdding in 4-6” of good, mineral-rich topsoil will give you the room for the grass to grow properly, with a deeper rooting zone. It allows for water to drain better as well, and go deeper into the ground. Also, it will ensure that your new lawn will get the nutrients that it needs in the beginning stages of growth. \n\nIf you’re planning on a new install, call us for a free consultation. We can help give you the expert advice you need to get great results.
